Here at KDU Alumni, we believe that your KDU experience does not just end when you graduate. You are a student for a few years but you are a KDU Alumni for life.  KDU Alumni is committed to serve our alumni through organising events and activities that will foster better relations within its community and also as a platform of entrepreneurial networking.
The KDU Alumni network is made up of over 45,000 KDU alumni from all over the world – spanning every industry and profession you can think of. We are committed to keep KDU's alumni network healthy by fostering life-long partnerships with students, graduates and friends of KDU.

The website will also be a platform for us to follow up the progress of our graduates once they leave us. Access to KDU Alumni website also gives our alumni the opportunity to catch up with what their old friends are doing, hear the latest University news, attend reunions and networking events, as well as lectures.

KDU University College and KDU College
  • Returning KDU Alumni are entitled to a 10% tuition fee waiver for Diploma to Degree and 20% for Degree to Postgraduate for their programme of study.
  • Returning KDU Alumni's children are entitled to a 30% tuition fee waiver for diploma/degree/postgraduates programmes.
KDU Alumni Herald, which is an initiative which aims to support our programmes and schools. This programme is to link students and alumni to a larger community and build stronger connection in developing their career and education pathways. Collaborating with them not only in fortifying the alumni engagement and networking, but to be the bridge for our mentoring efforts by providing current students with the opportunity to connect with alumni and discuss future career options and endeavours.

Our students appreciated having young entrepreneurs such as our speaker to work alongside KDU in bringing student engagement and hands-on exposure. 


Kenn Yeap

Mr. Kenn Yeap who completed his Diploma in Mass Communications and Bachelor Degree (Double Major) in Public Relations, Media Studies at KDU College came with much passion and shared his motto with our students; “It’s not that you can or not, but whether you want or not”.

Kenn worked with RTM English Radio Station as the Assistant Producer for the Morning Show and Drive Time Show, assisting the radio station in the collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia and Ministry of Tourism. Kenn then joined Life Magazine, under Feminine Magazine as the only male journalist to run for news, and educational feature writer. He was then appointed as Private Secretary to Deputy Minister of Trade, Cooperative and Consumerist, Dato’ Tan Lian Hoe handling her daily schedule, parliamentary task and ministerial assignments.

In 2012, Ken joined ntv& as Public Relations, one of his highlights was that he was appointed as PR Officer for Dato’ Lee Chong Wei and Datin’ Wong Mew Choo’s wedding. Currently, Kenn is working in Media Prima TV Network, as Consumer and Marketing and Communications Group. 


Raymond Tham

Mr. Raymond Tham is no stranger to pastry. Despite graduating with honours in Business Administration in the UK and hospitality management in KDU Malaysia, Raymond’s passion in pastry led him to a scholarship to one of the world’s renowned culinary institute.

Raymond shared of his apprenticeship and working experience in England for 5 years which enabled him to develop vast skills in the art of patisserie. One of this key milestones was to create desserts for the wedding reception of Mr. Tom Parker Bowles, food writer and son of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Amongst the many achievements such as becoming the Senior Chef-De-Partie with Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda, Chef Raymond decided to moved back home to Malaysia. He continued his professional journey in KDU University College and took up the challenge of teaching patisseries, chocolate and confections for 3 years. He won medals for KDU University College (Bronze & Silver medal Showpieces in FHA & HOFEXO). Chef Raymond assumed the position of Technical Advisor at Barry Callebaut Asia Pacific, which main responsibilities included conducting demonstrations and hands-on training for gourmet brands such as Cacao Barry, Callebaut, Sicao and Selbourne. Chef Raymond is the chef patron of Skillet@163 in Fraser Place Kuala Lumpur.

Within less than 2 years, Skillet had won a few accolades to name a few the best European 2015 by Timeout KL and Best independent restaurant 2016 by Expatriate lifestyle, Top 10 restaurant ranking in tripadvisor among 3000 restaurant around KL.


Christopher Yee

Mr. Christopher Yee shared briefly on this accomplishments and encouraged our students to take charge and make efforts to drive for your dreams. Chef Christopher was born in KL, Malaysia. He was an ex state Swimmer for KL, after which he completed his culinary studies in London. Upon completing his studies, Chris did his apprenticeship at one of Paris’ well known brasserie, Le Vaudeville.

A year later Chris joins the Hilton Hotel in London. As a Commis Chef, Chris worked his way up, eventually he got promoted to be one of the youngest Chef de partie in Hilton London. Still only in his twenties, he decided to further pursue his studies and move back to Kuala Lumpur and complete his Bachelor Degree in European Culinary management in KDU University. He gained more personal prestige followed in 2007, when he won his first Gold medal award in the Food Hotel Malaysia and followed by many more culinary competition both local and international. In 2012, Chris struck out and open up Topshelf Restaurant.

Over the spanned of 4 years, Chris has managed to build his reputation and clientele. Turning Topshef Restaurant into a hip and happening place whereby some customer would call it “a hidden gem”.


Teo Nie Ching

Teo Nie Ching is a Malaysian politician from the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. She currently is the Member of Parliament for Kulai, Johor. She also holds the position of International Secretary of the DAP, a social democratic party in Malaysia. After Pakatan Harapan won the Malaysian general election in 2018, Ching was sworn in as a Deputy Minister of Education in July 2018.

Teo comes from a political family. Her father was the secretary of DAP Labis Parliamentary Constituency Campaign Committee, while her sister and brother-in-law are the current Chief and Deputy Chair of the Dapsy Johor State Council.

Teo completed her secondary school education in Chinese High School, Batu Pahat, Johor. She pursued her tertiary education under a twinning programme and obtained her law degree. After graduating from the university, she spent one year to work as a librarian in UK and travel around Europe. In 2004, she received her Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Malaya.
